A dinner napkin sits on the plate before the food arrives. For the first few minutes of a meal it is the most looked-at object on the table, and unlike a menu, nobody puts it down. That is a better piece of print real estate than most restaurants realise they own.
It is also the one most often wasted, for a boring mechanical reason: a dinner napkin is 1/8 folded, so only an eighth of the printed sheet is visible in service. Artwork centred on the flat sheet vanishes into the fold, and the venue pays for a logo nobody sees.
Why we exist
Most napkin suppliers proof on the flat sheet, because that is what comes off the press. It looks perfect, it approves quickly, and the fold destroys it. We have seen the same order arrive wrong from three different suppliers for the same reason.
So we proof folded. The mockup shows the napkin at real size on a plate with the mark where it will actually sit, and if that means moving your logo off centre on the flat sheet, we move it. Where we think the finish is wrong for your mark — a fine crest sent for foil, which will fill in — we say so before you pay for a die. Minimum order is 12.
How we print
3-ply tissue as standard, because a dinner napkin is used rather than admired and 2-ply feels thin the first time a guest wipes their hands. Airlaid where you want the drape and weight of laundered cloth without the laundry contract; guests routinely assume it is real linen.
Spot colours are mixed to your reference rather than approximated, which is the only reliable way to hold an exact brand colour on an absorbent stock — process printing on tissue drifts. Foil and emboss each need a die; it is a one-off, we keep it on file, and your reorders never pay for it twice.
