Embossing is the quietest option we make. The mark is pressed into the napkin as raised relief with no ink whatsoever, so it reads as texture in raking light and disappears entirely in flat light. On a white-on-white table it is exactly right.

It suits rooms where a printed logo would look like advertising: private dining, members’ clubs, tasting menus, memorial services. The guest notices the napkin is considered without noticing that they have been marketed to.

The constraint is scale. Emboss needs a reasonably bold mark to read at all, because the effect depends on shadow. Anything with a stroke weight below about a millimetre simply flattens back out in the sheet. We size it up on the mockup or tell you plainly that emboss is the wrong choice for your mark.
